A Marquee Wedding at Fairbourne Golf Club
Sometimes a marquee wedding just feels like it was made for the couple. Star and James' day at Fairbourne Golf Club was exactly that. Relaxed, full of character, and with enough rock to keep me, as someone who grew up listening to it, quietly buzzing in the background all day.
The Ceremony at Fairbourne Church
They had their ceremony at Fairbourne Church. I usually gravitate towards outdoor weddings, but this little church has something about it. It was simple, personal, and actually gave everyone a bit of shelter from the wind. Star and James didn’t bother with over-the-top formalities. They kept it real, which always makes everything feel more genuine.
A Marquee Wedding with Personality
The marquee wedding setup at Fairbourne Golf Club looked class. It had the bright, summery vibe you’d expect, but with a twist. Star’s taste in music really came through in the details. She’s into bands like Papa Roach, so there was a bit of grit under the gloss. It wasn’t just another Pinterest-perfect wedding—it actually felt like them.
That Bloody Wind
The weather looked ideal on paper. Bright sunshine, warm air, the lot. But the wind? Chaos. One minute everything’s calm, next minute a veil is halfway across the golf course. Between that and the full-force sun, the couple portraits became a bit of a mission. But honestly, I love that stuff. We didn’t try to control it. We leaned into it. Star and James were up for it, which made all the difference. Hair everywhere, dress catching the breeze, loads of laughter—it gave us some cracking photos that felt real rather than overly polished.
Speech of the Year
Their son, Coby, gave a speech that absolutely stole the show. I’ve seen a lot over the years. Some emotional, some painfully long, but this one was just bang on. He had everyone howling. You could feel how much love and pride was wrapped up in that moment. It’s the kind of thing you remember long after the confetti’s cleared.
Weddings Like This Are Why I Do This
The thing that stuck with me most about this day is how unforced it felt. No stress. No checklist of must-have moments. Just two people doing things their own way, surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.
