Taking Alexandra and Henry’s Rydal Penrhos wedding photos was an honour, and having the awesome Sophie Wynn joining me to help out and get some behind the scenes shots (diolch dude!) and instantly we knew it was going to be a chilled and laid back day.

We rocked up to Alexandra's parent's house to start the day, and everything was super calm. None of the usual chaos that can happen during the bridal prep, and it set the tone for the day perfectly.

The ceremony took place in the same church where Alexandra was christened, which added a real sense of history to the day.

What’s funny is that before the wedding, I’d never actually met Alexandra and Henry in person. We’d had the usual Zoom chats, but they first spoke to my wife Bec when she was helping me at a wedding fayre at Venue Cymru in Llandudno and they booked not long after that.

As wedding suppliers, we usually step into couples lives for a very brief moment in time. We’re not there for the years before it, the family history, or all the little bits that lead up to it. So being invited in, even if it starts with a quick chat at a wedding fayre, is always a privilege. You’re trusted with something that means a huge amount to them, and that’s never lost on me.

It was my first time shooting at Rydal Penrhos. It had everything you really need for a wedding. Beautiful grounds, loads of character inside, and a team who knew exactly what they were doing.

For couple photos, we kept it simple. Fifteen minutes wandering the grounds was all we needed. A few quiet corners, some old wooden doors, and a chance for them to just breathe together away from the crowd. That little pause in the day always matters more than people realise.

The day then rolled naturally into the evening with people chatting, laughing and enjoying themselves. It was just Alexandra and Henry doing it their way, and pulling it off brilliantly.
