Lowri and Fin’s Tipi Wedding on the Llŷn Peninsula

Lowri and Fin’s tipi wedding was a proper good one.

The morning started at Lowri’s mum and dad’s house, which is always lovely really, because it gives the day that personal feel straight away. It’s not just a random place where everyone happens to be getting ready. It’s home. There’s family about, people coming and going, and everything just feels a bit more meaningful from the start.

The ceremony was over at Penarth Fawr, then everyone headed back to Lowri’s parents’ house afterwards, where the tipi was set up for the rest of the celebrations.

So yeah, there was a bit of travelling involved, and the day had quite a lot packed into it, but to be fair, it was brilliant.

Lowri was so laid-back and switched on all day, which makes such a difference to us as photographers and Fin was an absolute nutter, in the best possible way. Proper good fun, full of energy, and just brilliant to be around.

The whole wedding party were great as well. Everyone got stuck in, everyone was up for a laugh, and there was a really good feeling to the day from start to finish.

Because there was quite a bit going on, we had to work quickly in places. We didn’t have loads of time for the couple photos, but we managed to grab around 15 minutes, and sometimes that’s enough if you use the time properly. A quick wander and a few minutes for Lowri and Fin to actually be together in the middle of an absolutely hectic day.

And I think that’s the bit people sometimes forget.

Wedding days go ridiculously fast. One minute you’re getting ready, and before you know it, the day’s nearly done. So even if you don’t want loads of couple photos, it’s still worth making a little bit of time for them. Just enough time to slow everything down for a few minutes and get some photos of the two of you together.

We also managed to sneak out later when the light softened a bit, which is always a bonus. Especially somewhere like the Llŷn Peninsula, with the fields, the hills, and all that open space. It just works.

It was also great working alongside Paul on video again. Days like this are always good when photo and video are working together properly, especially when there’s a lot happening across different parts of the day.

So if there’s one helpful thing I’d take from this tipi wedding, it’s give yourself a little bit of breathing room in the timeline.

It doesn’t need to be planned to death, and you definitely don’t need to overthink every single minute, but having those extra 10 or 15 minutes here and there can make the whole day feel easier. It gives you time to actually enjoy things, and it means we can get the photos you want without everything feeling rushed.

Lowri and Fin, thank you so much for having me there to photograph your tipi wedding.

You were both brilliant, your friends and family were class, and it was a proper pleasure to be part of the day.

Aso a huge thanks to these legends for making the day so easy for me
